My family emigrated from the former Soviet Union to Cleveland in 1974. My parents, seeking a better life, left their home country at the age of 28 with limited resources—speaking no English, carrying only $300, and caring for two young children, ages 8 and 2. Driven by their belief in the American Dream, they worked diligently each day to establish a stable and successful life for their family. Since 2002, my parents have resided in Solon.
My wife and our two children moved to Solon in 2004, inspired by the desire to enroll in the Solon School System, which is highly regarded. Our children attended Solon City Schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. My wife is an Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of experience working with children with special needs. I have operated my own business in Solon since 2008 and joined the Planning Commission in 2020.
As a member of the Planning Commission, I have advocated for applicants when I believed their proposals were appropriate and have sought innovative solutions rather than simply rejecting applications. Over four years of service on the commission, I believe I have contributed positively to our community. I am confident that I can bring the same dedication and commitment as your Councilman representing Ward 4.
